  • How do I become a volunteer?
    Complete our online form and/or call our office at (250) 763-2424 for an interview. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • Do I require a driver's license to be a volunteer?
    A valid Driver's license is required.
  • How much time is required when volunteering?
    Approximately 1.5 - 2 hours, one day per week is appreciated. Or the volunteer may be registered on an on-call basis, if that is their choice.
  • What type of commitment is required to volunteer?
    We need to have a commitment to be available for the time and route agreed upon and receive advance notice of time away.
  • Does Meals on Wheels reimburse any of my expenses during volunteering?
    We have a small remuneration for auto expense based on mileage.
  • Is it possible to get a letter of reference from Meals on Wheels?
    We are happy to provide a Letter of Reference for volunteers who provide a dependable and responsible commitment.
  • Is a criminal check required?
    Yes.
  • What can I expect from volunteering?
    You will experience the satisfaction of knowing you are providing a vital service to the community. You will make new friends, learn new skills, and probably grow in self-esteem and confidence. There may be some challenging moments, but remember your involvement is brightening others' lives and making a real difference.

    West Kelowna, Peachland & Rutland
48 hour notice preferred to subscribe formeal service.
To provide affordable, nutritious, well balanced and flavorful meals to Seniors and homebound individuals.
To reduce individual isolation and enhance their quality of life through positive social interaction.
Families enjoy peace of mind knowing their loved one is the recipient of healthy meals on a regular basis.
